An unexpected Ducks fan here ;D ;D
Q. In the media guide it says that you like or follow the Mighty Ducks. I was wondering how many games you've been to this year and what it's like trying to follow the Stanley Cup finals while you're here? LINDSAY DAVENPORT: It's been tough. It was great while I was home. Funny you picked that up. I was able to go to the last two games of the last series, Games 3 and 4, to the advancement to the Stanley Cup. You know, I've had season tickets for about five years. This was the first year I got rid of them, because they were so bad (laughter). I went for the Lakers instead, and they swapped on me this year. But, no, I grew up a big hockey fan. My parents, when we were growing up, had season tickets to the Kings, which was in Los Angeles, moved to Orange County. It's been so exciting to be in Orange County with the Angels and now the Ducks. You know, I think the Ducks will come back. They've had a long layoff before Game 1. Hopefully it's a matter of time.

Well, Lindsay might not want to check the score before her match. Ducks lost again! *sigh* pls don't win all those wonderful rounds just to come to the final to get sweep. Don Cherry is giving it to Jiggy, as expected! He's yapping how not right it is for Jiggy to get on Leno. I knew he would, so Cherry.

I don't think there's anything to do with Jiggy on Leno's show! Devil's defence is incredible and the scoring line work very very hard. Jiggy doesn't have much chances stopping those pucks.

I certainly don't mean that going on Leno affected Jiggy's performance. But it does give more incentive for the other team to beat them, guess what is up on the wall of Devils locker room now. I bet it's a pix of Jiggy with Leno. This is what they were trying to avoid, give extra motivation to the other team to beat them. I heard they were trying very hard to not get what they said leak out of the locker room but somehow, a Duck was quoted to say sth like how much he would love to see Steven's face when he beat the Devils and shaked Steven's hand at the end. I heard that quote is indeed on the Devils' locker room wall. And Cherry shown the clip of game 1, after Frissen scored, he was yapping at Jiggy about sth Leno (by reading his lips). So that's what I meant it's not good to show up on a talk show before you win the big one. Look how inspired the Devils is now. But of course i'm not blaming it on Jiggy. I just hope he won't get too ticked off by these bcos apparently, the Devils' crashing the net and trash talking at Jiggy with every chance trying to throw him off his game.

Nieuwendyke is not playing again. I doubt he will travel to Anaheim The way the Ducks playing right now, they don't need Joe to be dressed anyway. Maybe it's better that he nurses his injury and avoid any further complication.

Nieuwy is very competitive and determine guy. See how he come back from knee surgery on BOTH knees. But he's 36 now, and not many years left. I know I should try to think positive and hopefully it really not that serious but you know hockey players, as long as they can lace up their skates and skate, they don't want to miss any game. I read an article and he said if he could not play, he would make himself useful by passing energy bars to Brodeur between periods. What a great guy! He was a well respected captain in Calgary. Pat Burns will definitely miss him when there are crucial faceoff!

Indulge me with my obsession for Nieuwy for a moment! This's the latest pic I can find in the playoff which you can see his face. He didn't look that great with his beard from this angle. btw I always feel sorry for the wives, girl friends and kids of hockey players during playoff!

Did he stick his tongue out ? ;D Well, you know what it means when there's playoff beard. I'm sure they much rather their men still in it than if they are clean shaved. When we were still in the playoff like several weeks ago, my sis wouldn't let her hubby shave ;D .

Nieuwy actually is quite like Sampras at the 'stick his tongue out' department Nieuwy has been missing 3 15/16 games and counting lol at your sis! Congrat Ducks on their OT win!

I'll be leaving Phoenix when the game started and depends on how long the match goes, in Salt Lake or in the air between Salt Lake and Calgary when it ends!

The travelling is not that bad, that's expected but it's been really long! Yes, and I forget to congratulate on our new Baldy shaver but I believe we will have more chances to do that down the road.

Good news for Lee, Nieuwy is practicing now. Bad news, he still can't play for Game 5, he said after practice, he didn't really feel comfortable and don't think he's there yet. Well.... Go Ducks.

Shooting Galary and Devils beat the shit out of the Ducks . Lee, they interviewed Nieuwy before the game. He didn't dress for the game of course so he's in his suit and looked very handsomely. He looks pretty cool and comfy so I think he's feeling better. He might be back for Game 6, I think, if not, he can always try Game 7 .

Thanks for the news Vera. In Canada, even Chinese newspaper has more hockey news than those in Phoenix. The newspaper had a big photo of Nieuwy skating and he looked so handsome with his playoff beard.

Sorry Vera for Ducks lost! At least Jiggy wins the Conn Smythe. I felt like I lived in South Pole for the last 2 days. I have to come here to find out what happen to the final game. My brother does not subscrine any newspaper, English or Chinese His satellite doesn't have any sports channel (i.e. TSN) or US network. So, off course, no RG finals. Devils :satan: :satan:
