Finally, the playoffs here and I'm really excited. Let's talk hockey (if there's anyone else interested ). Everything's settle in the East but the West is racing. I hope we'll get the matchup we like. So good luck to my team tomorrow, and my captain ;D .

Any idea who has home ice advantage? I'm hoping that the Islanders will upset the Senators in round 1 ;D That, or the Leafs doing it in round two would be even sweeter... the Sens dominated the season series last year too, and a lot of good it did them

In the East, these 4 teams open at home: Ottawa, NJ, TB, Philli. I'm sorry but Sens getting upset is extremely unlikely. Islanders were just awful lately, just that the other NY team that was chasing them was even worse that allowed the Islanders to clinch. I think it's very likely that Sens will sweep the Islanders. I think Sens has the easiest first round of all 8 matchup.

Emmmm, I suspect there's just not many hockey fans here. Anyway, I'll just post some result here for first game Round 1, some shocking results Both #1 seeds in the East and West are upset . Oilers over Stars 2-1 ;D and Islanders over Sens 3-0 . Becca may be getting her wish. Devils over Bruins 2-1 and Leafs over Flyers 5-3 and Elmo scored a hat-trick ;D ;D ;D (he is my favorite non-Canuck or should I say ex-Canuck). Good luck to my Canucks tomorrow, pls don't lose .

Indeed he did. I'm really happy for Paul. It's been a frustrating career for him in the Pond all those years. I sat thru the last 2 periods and then the 2OT and they did score, 80% of the time, the game was played on the Duck zone, they were scoring on Giguere left and right. But JS held his ground so well ;D. It's his debut playoff game and he had a record 64 saves (or 63?). Anyway... I wasn't happy when they let Teemu left bcos that left Paul there with no support. But when they got Sykora, I thought it's great. I like Sykora since he's part of the "A" line in the Devils. So Paul is like Elias, just better . Don't think the Ducks can past the Wings though, but all the best for the Ducks, and the Oilers, and the Wilds ;D

Wow! Haven't watched hockey for ages! Watched the Canucks and Blues for about 5 minutes in 1st period and last half of 3rd period. Cloutier (?sp) was great last night! He was the major reason that Canucks preserve the win last night in the 3rd period when Canucks kept taking one stupid penalty after another. The one that cause Cloutier shut out was the dumbest one of all. The whole match, the referees blowed whistles for every little actions and how could he (can't remember his name) sucker punch a guy like that If Al McInnes was not hurt last night, the Canucks might lost the game with all those penalties. The penalty killing still need lots of work, so many times I saw Blues just cruise inside the blue lines and crack at Cloutier. Anyway, Canucks better keep to their usual form of being road warriors and win the 2 matches on the road.

Yeah, that stupid penalty at the end. But it's an emotional game so everyone has an extra ouce of emotion to spare. So Al is out ;D . But I don't think if he's in the game, their PP will have much success though, we were on them so much they really don't have much chances to get set up. I remembered one of their PP, they can't get out of their own zone for like 30 seconds. Al is great on shooting at the point. But if he can't get set up, I dont think he's so good at shooting on the go. It was a tight game alright, but I'm very happy that they show confident, and didn't lower their tempo for the entire game. If they have let up a little bit, the Blues would have come back right away with just a couple of a goal down for 2 periods. Now, there's a series. We are a much better road team than at home. Maybe we fans give too much pressure to our team and they always play nervously at home . But I see light when they get out of town and play at the other team's back yard. Hope they kick the Blues gloomy asses ;D ;D ;D. Go Canucks Go.

That's okay, RF. I'm really really happy for Weir too. I was watching the last couple of holes and the playoff. I jumped when he putted that in. He's the first Canadian ever to win The Masters . What a year for Mike, 3 titles ;D ;D ;D For the playoff, hehehe, Oilers beat Stars again: Oilers d. Stars 3-2 Devils d. Bruins 3-0

Now it's my turn to barge in! ;D ;D
This weekend is very good for Canadians. The men curling team from Alberta win the World Championship in Winnipeg and break the jinx that Canada never won World Curling Championship in there. Sorry that the women team with Colleen (?sp) Jones lost and had to settle for silver.

May be you can change the topic to Abracanada after hockey playoff ;D ;D Maybe I would. Just a big big big good luck for my Canucks tonite. Go make the Blues blue ;D . There's too many games tonite, hope the Ducks can continue their underdog success, as for the Wilds too. I don't have the same enthusiasm for teams in the East, but of course good luck to the Sens, monkey off the back and don't lose in the first round again. And for the Leafs, I heard Mike Weir is going to the Leafs game tonite (they've been asking him about the Leafs since the beginning of the Masters). And surely will get a big standing O. Tracy is from Toronto too, wonder if he's going too . So hope the Leafs will put on a good show for one of their famous fan.

RF ;D ;D;D, so you got to see Mike Weir up close and personal at Sears, lucky you! Did you get a photo with him by any chance? He's on all the highlight reels too, dropping the puck for the Leafs game. In fact, they showed him practicing hockey with the Capitals, and in a pretend brawl with Olli the Goalie, pretty funny. *sigh*, Canucks lost again. They didn't have the same intensity like they did in the last game. And Blues defence is airtight. It was a very close game though, 1-2 until they got an empty net at the last min. They need those desperation hockey again in the next game to get the series back on track. C'mon Canucks. And OMG, Ducks clips the Wings again ;D . Giguere. What a performance. He only let in 4 goals in 137 Wings shots in 3 games. I think we have a underdog winner, soon. Here's tonite's results: Blues d. Canucks 3-1, Blues leads 2-1 in series Leafs d. Flyers 4-3 (2OT), Leafs leads 2-1 in series Sens d. Islanders 3-2 (2OT), Sens leads 2-1 in series Avs d. Wilds 3-0, Avs leads 2-1 in series Ducks d. Wings 2-1, Ducks leads 3-0 in series

I only managed a couple of mins of video but again tons of people's heads and arms in the way -- this is when I wish I was as tall as Todd Martin!! ;D It was fun all the same! He's such a neat guy -- makes you proud to be Cdn. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy in fact... now for our guys to win a major, right?

Finally, got some mood to update this thing. I'm losing track myself.
West: Ducks eliminated Red Wings series ended 4-0 (very desirable result, though I almost feel bad for Cujo) Stars leads Oilers series at 3-2 Avs leads Wilds series at 3-1 Blues leads Canucks series at 3-2 (staying alive)
East: Sens eliminated Islanders series ended 4-1 (well done) Devils eliminated Bruins series ended 4-1 Lightnings leads Capitals series at 3-2 Leafs ties Flyers series at 2-2 (C'mon, Elmo's back, right?)
