Muzza got some clay in his eye. Might be career-threatening.

Great service game, Anduh Go, Tunisia!

Meanwhile, in the Juniors, the Great French Hope Caroline Garcia has thrown in 12 DFs so far in her SF match against the Tunisian player, Ons Jabeur. Who coaches these kids to play this way? I don't know, but I know I'd axe the coach that told my daughter that 12 DFs was the key to victory.

This match is getting frustrating for me to watch. Rafa is playing great defense as always but his offense isn't that great. He's making some errors. It seems like he could be vulnerable if Andy could put together 5-10 minutes of quality tennis.
No reason for Murray to come to the net on a very average approach and he gets passed. 15-40, right after breaking back.

Rafa, start clearing the service line with your backhand. Thanks.

The point of the match ends with Rafa botching a forehand long! 30-40!
Slice long from Rafa and it is deuce.
Rafa floats a forehand return out. That wasn't good.
Good God, double fault from Murray. He's screaming about something.
And now he hits an ace. That was brilliant.
Big Rafa forehand. Deuce again. If Rafa can mix his forehand direction he'll win. He's not as comfortable on that dtl one, though.
Murray seemed to get annoyed and hit a forehand into the net.
And a dtl forehand from Rafa wins him the game. Rubbish.

Good hold there. If he can somehow sneak in a break here, this could really get interesting.

Murray cusses like he's Capriati or something.
This has gone from easy hold to big trouble.
Oh, and there's the break. I don't think Andy's getting off the hook again. I think Rafa is going to serve this out now.

Good offence from Rafa there to break for 6-5.
Murray whining and screaming like a little baby. Why does he do this.

Somewhere, Selima Sfar is shedding away a tear of joy. Maybe she's even there! I think she plays in one of those French leagues. So Ons beat the 1 and 3 seeds, but can she beat the experienced Pweeg in the final? Oh, and: Nice one, Rafa. You da man!

So funny when the commentators fall over themselves to grovel on behalf of players who cuss.

Anduh really does have something to cuss about now.
I'm sorry to hear about the groveling commentators over there. They always used to be so hard on Tim. And he reached the SFs here, too.

I expect the third set to go by quickly to Nadal. 6-4 or 6-2 maybe?

Has Rafa hit one backhand winner from a normal baseline rally (that wasn't a pass) during this match?

This match is an advert for best-of-three on the men's side. I don't want to watch this set. Everyone knows it's a waste of time.

RE: Rafa's backhand ... no, I don't think he has. Novak is going to punish him for that for sure. Quite. I can just see Novak offloading on so many of these short, lame Rafa BHs. I don't have a good feeling about the final.

I can't see a way Hobak isn't winning this all. And it might not even be close.

I was reading on the ATP's site about Novak's wins over Rafa. Many are commenting that Rafa has been unable to break down his backhand with his forehand and that's the key to success. I think it's true. If you can deprive Rafa of much progression with his forehand it allows you to go into his backhand and seek and destroy the short ball.
The best way out of that for Rafa is to try to do more with the backhand but also to vary the direction of his forehand. He prefers to go crosscourt when he's stretched out wide and he also prefers to go inside out when he runs around a backhand. He has to go down-the-line and do it with success to beat Djokovic.

At least with Rog, he always had the loopy shot with topspin to the BH, a shot Novak has no issues dealing with. Had this been Rafa from last year, I would rate his chances much higher (obv). I still think he can win the final since the best-of-five element of the match will favour him, but, he needs to play better. Basically. No loose errors, penetrating BHs (which have improved during this third set I think).

I have to agree with you, Lex, that match was completely draining. It was exactly what you didn't want to see - Nadal playing about 50% and Murray never really being able to take his chances when they came. And did they ever come and come.
