Paul Annacone and I were on our feet at the end of the first set. I can't believe I have to leave for the airport in 20 minutes.

Wowowowowowow. Fed takes it, standing ovation from the crowd at the end of a set.
Every point in that set towards the end felt like a potential game-changer, it was that intense.
I did feel that Fed was playing much better throughout the set. Hobak not at his highest level, I don;t think he expected Fed to be quite so sharp.

A set and a break for Fed!
Hobak does not have enough answers so far.

Shank return from Novak. That's a poor sign.

Fed's GOAT serving though. There's not much Nole can do except wait for him to cool off.

Wow, Nole's wheels have come off!

Nole is not able to handle the balls with no pace. But yes, he's falling apart quickly.

But, it's Mary. I think she is going grey.

My commentators (Mark Woodforde and Wally Masur) talking about how when the time violation was given, Novak was calm but his father was up in arms about it. When he lost the first set, his father left the stadium and hasn't returned. They speculated how maybe he'd gone to have a cigarette but a cigarette doesn't last 5 games. Oh, and how when Novak looks up to his box he just sees the empty seat.
Roger in trouble.

Mary, how do you see the WTA tour now there is no clear favourite? It's true, no one player dominates women's tennis. Juju (Justine Henin) has retired, Kim (Clijsters) has a baby and isn't playing all the time, and the Williams sisters are on and off. Caroline Wozniacki is the world no.1, but the public don't know her very well. The draw is wide open, because Maria (Sharapova) is playing well again. Things are changing as one generation leaves and another arrives. The new girls are much taller and stronger, and generally play from the baseline. It's a less varied game, less all surface. That's an observation, not a criticism. I miss it, but the new game is really good too. With all those strong shots, it's great to watch. Could this be Marion Bartoli's year to take the title? This is a superb opportunity for her. It's her first quarter-final here, she plays well on clay, she has what it takes. She reminds me of Monica Seles, and Seles won Roland Garros. Marion is aggressive, she plays the ball early and she's confident. She can do it.

Clutch from Fed in preventing the previous game from being a turning point. At break point down, it could so easily have been.

Fed has NEVER lost a Slam match from two sets to love up, I think I remember Sam Smith saying earlier.

The 2nd and 3rd sets definitely haven't rivalled the 1st set's intensity. RG scheduling has been such a fail this year

I just got back from the airport - looks like Roger wins whenever I'm watching. Hope he can close out the fourth.
Apparently I haven't missed much since the second set ended?
