I think it's more that Nadal was dulled...he looks scared It's the shots Fed was choosing to play...dropshot, serve-and-volley TWICE. Confident.

Well both players deserved to win a set, so being at a set apiece seem about right. Except they won each others' sets.

Yeah...that shit never scared Nadal before.
He's just flummoxed by blowing that first set point, I think, when he probably should have stopped play.

4-0. Fed rushing, serving before the crowd is done clapping. Rattled!

Sure hasn't looked like that in this critical tb. Rafa not only resides in Fed's head, he's built a huge mansion there and Fed has had to move to the doghouse.

such a weak overhead to let Rafa have a crack at the pass. Over now. Yes, to me that was the sign that Fed just cannot beat Rafa here. Not now, not ever, till death do they part.

I need to go to the store, but might have to wait until this over. .. but if I go now and am back in 30 minutes, this will [probably still be happening. Blah, what to do.

Beginning to see the point of people who think yet another Fedal final is boring. I want Djokovic in more of these.

I mean...what's happening now isn't exactly a shock, but neither was Fed's fast start.

I don't understand why people ever favor Fed to beat Nadal here. It simply doesn't make sense, nor has it ever made any sense. Of course, I might just be acting like a Nadal-tard on this one.

Nadal had been Mediocre, taken to 5 sets by Isner, should have lost a set to Andujar, layed badly against an even worse Ljubo, could have lost sets to Murray
Fed instead, has been playing as good as he can in this space and time, and ended the streak of a player who straight setted Nadal twice on clay

That "dropshot" to go down 0-40, good lord. Almost like Fed wants it to be over asap.

Fed just broke back but I'm not convinced.
This is what I am seeing out there - Roger is playing EXACTLY the same way that earned him four losses to Rafa at RG. He's trying to hit through him. Almost every backhand is topspin and the errors keep mounting, particularly off the return of serve. WHY? I was expecting him to slice and dice and use the drop shot much more. I know his slice often comes short but God - let Rafa take the risk and make the error for once. It's better than flying 2828509 backhands long.
Finally, Fed is using the dropshot a bit and it's WORKING.

Now he's changing - he is hitting the drop shot. It didn't win him the point on that last exchange, but he has to do it. He can't win this match with his backhand topspin. He has to get out of the Rafa backhand trap.

Fed is soo gonna cry if he wins, perhaps he will cry if he loses too He would have cried if he had won, but I don't think he'll cry when he loses. He's too used to it losing to Rafa here. At least he's not just rolling over.
