Well done, Kvitty, in the end!!
I'm gonna be positive and say it's all good experience to learn and improve!

Finally, KvittyGOAT beats WimbledonGOAT. All credit to Tsveti -- I doubt anyone expected her to come within a set of repeating last year's heroics. She'll stay in the Top 50!

heh, pas mal Good for Petra, did get her choking out of her system in set 2, nice to see her put the wheels back on and close it out in unscary style.

On Monday, Pironkova will have 1151 points. 800 of those come from Slams

I can't believe how many times I've had to look up who the 8th quarterfinalist is ...

And Woz apparently is planning to play Bastad next week? So good that she didn't plan on staying at Wimbledon til the end then.

Gotta love how Woz schedules herself around Scando MMs.

You guys are so mean. Copenhagen is the capital city of the country where her parents moved. Bastad is where they used to go on vacation. Loyalty > victory. </kman>

Seriously, they used to holiday in Bastad? That's her reason for attempting to rearrange the entire tennis calendar and playing the most fucked-up pre-Slam schedule ever? What the what? Oh, Woz, point and laugh

Oh, Woz, point and laugh I think Hurley was being sarcastic? But really, even this is surely a better reason then... whatever her reason is. I mean, there're surely more money in slams?

Well done Bimbledon for starting this QF on No 1 with rain obviously imminent

That sounds like a Ste."I won't play the olympics because I love Fila" Kim reason.

One of the Woztards on WTA World said that about Bastad. I don't know if they actually did holiday there, but if so, that's a completely stupid reason which perfectly fits into her pattern of insane scheduling decisions.
Anyway...you gotta move this match to Centre, right?

Isn't there a rule about matches having to be completed on the court they started on?
|
|
|
Post by DBBN on Jun 28, 2011 13:19:19 GMT -5
That's a rule that I know has been broken before. I can't give you any specific examples off the top of my head...but I know it has.

It's awesome how Ivanisevic and Krajicek are on CC while an actual women's match is going on and it rains. Bimbledon.

They're closing the roof -- if they don't move the LADIES' SINGLES match to Centre, they are going to get such shit from everyone, and well deserved.

Am I the only one who suspects Woz knows she'll never win a GS, and is just trying to make hay while the, er, sun shines...or have I just been reading too much Jon Ronson?

I think she thinks she can...she's won big titles before. It's not completely out of the realm of possibility -- it would just be terrible.

Oh, the match is gong on and Azarenka won all the games after restart. She's up 3-1

She seems pretty confident, sometimes even sounds quite arrogant, about her abilities. It's probably simply money-driven decision to play as much.

Even when Paszek plays a few amazing points, she's struggling to win games.

Post by lexpretend on Jun 28, 2011 14:44:20 GMT -5
Whoa. Azza missed an easy volley putaway on SP, then DFed, then Paszek played a great point and hey, it's 3-5...

UGHHH
Paszek hits service winner which must have been JUST a let, missed her first serve and Azarenka was all over her horrible second serve and even then was lucky her shot hit the line after bouncing off the net and now it's SP again and GODFUCKINGDAMNIT PASZEK HAD THIS GAME WON
