1) I don't actually hate Fed or see any reason to hate him 2) The Sampras record, I do hate Sampras Well I don't see what either of those things have to do with supporting him MORE at #1 than at #2 or #3. I don't think the rankings of any of the Big 3 have an effect on their chances at winning majors. At this point it's like rolling dice (sometimes weighted) for them.

Congrats!
In all, a disappointing match. Nole wasn't good, didn't look comfortable at all. Some JesusFed stuff but he really wasn't pushed that hard. It's looking a lot like his last RG title.

Finally for Fed! He was close before.
Earlier I thought that it's nice that in theory all those 4 in SFs can beat each other both in the semis, and in the finals. Everyone has a chance. But I totally didn't expect Federer to win.

Can it be? Wimbledon #7? Back to #1? Taking Sampras' fucking #1 record? Can it be?
This better not end with Murray winning the title.

I want Tsonga to win it all though.

It's funny how in many cases the previous state of liking all of the Big Three, just some more than others, has now tipped over into full-on HATERDOM of the ones you used to just "like a bit less". I'm like that with Rafa now.

About the match ...
I think Nole lost it on the forehand. It's not what it was last year. Backhand was still magnificent.
It's funny that Roger seemed to win a lot more long (I use that word loosely) rallies than usual.
I hate to say this, but Ali may have been right. Djokovic is pulling a Hingis 1998!

In retrospect - yeah yeah all too easy to say in retrospect - the signs were there. All through the clay season we saw that Nole was nowhere near his 2011 level. And despite the choking and the losses we also saw that game-wise Fed could definitely compete with Peak Nole. And then factor in indoor grass and...yeah, today happened.

Eventually, you just had to choose. I think those two analogies are the most perfect that could have been chosen. However, when it came to Kim and Justine, I took an alternative route: Davenport and Mauresmo. Yeah, you see how that worked out for me.

And despite the choking and the losses we also saw that game-wise Fed could definitely compete with Peak Nole. And then factor in indoor grass and...yeah, today happened. I just don't agree here. Roger did not win one set in either of their two clay matches and ... really was only in command of one, maybe ... MAYBE, two of them. To me, Novak looked like the far more dominant player in those matches. This is a different surface, yes. Advantage Fed, for sure. But with Novak the winner of six of their past seven, I think this loss was a major surprise. Going in, I was giving Fed about a 20% shot.
