“Unfortunately I have picked up an upper respiratory illness, which is affecting my nose and throat. I have been playing a lot of matches here in the rain and cold wind, and I haven’t been well for a few days. The most important thing is that I’m feeling good on the court and playing some good tennis, despite not being able to talk much away from the court. The priority is my singles match tomorrow, so I will do whatever it takes to make sure I’m ready to play the best I can." - A. Radwanska

The key for Agnieszka will be her first serve percentage; if she serves like she did against Kerber she has a chance, if she serves like she did against Kirilenko she doesn't.
That's "a chance to keep it respectable" obv, not a chance to win.
Just win games, Aga.

So sad that we all know the World #3 World #2 (and soon World #1, undoubtedly) is going to get crushed in a Grand Slam final.

I'd normally say she has no chance but then Stosur happened and shattered all my preconceptions.

When she wins, Williams has taken to hopping on the grass like a grade-schooler at recess. But she's no youngster anymore. At 30, she could become the first thirty-something woman to win a major tournament since Martina Navratilova, who was 33 when she won Wimbledon in 1990. Not that Williams feels like an old-timer. ''No,'' she said. ''Mentally, I'm 12.'' She feels more like a comeback kid.

Just a random observation about the pre-match photos today. How awkward. Aga looked somewhat excited, and Serena just looked bored. They were standing relatively spaced from eachother as well. Contrast this to the RG men's final photo this year. Both Nole and Rafa smiling and with their arms around eachother.

I hope Serena wins easily and this isn't a repeat of the US Open with Stosur.

Hagatha has made like 1 first serve so far. LOL.
How cute is it when she flings herself into a forehand. And it barely makes the service line with no pace.

The second serve finally getting the treatment is deserves this tournament.
I hope Kerber is watching this. This is all your fault, Kerbie.

They really have to take Fowler out of the commentary box and just stick him back in the studio. He's really, really bad, especially at calling women's matches. He and Evert are basically just talking at eachother.

Serena's playing "careful" tennis. Looks like she wants to keep the UEs in check.

I'm hoping for that, but don't want to jinx it. Serena could lose focus and donate a couple of games and we wouldn't have our modern-day Zvereva moment.

Total horror show from Hagatha. Serena isn't even serving that well.... just did just hit an ace. But it's not like Hagatha hasn't gifted her every game. INJURIED, I suppose. She has an excuse for this "performance" at the end of the match.

Serena basically played that last return point from half way between the base- and service-line.
