She is probably the least respected two-time Slam champion ever.

I would say she is DEFINITELY the least respected two-time Slam champion ever. Don't forget, after she won her first Slam, she still didn't have any clothing deals. Because, you know, the sponsors were too busy signing up the future stars of tennis, like, you know, Coco V. And she drew the top seed in qualies, too, so I guess Jehovah disrespects her, too. Fortunately, that top seed is the eternally-underperforming Paszek. Here is that Q draw, as per TF: (1)Paszek v (wc)Kuznetsova Doi v Gavrilova Buyukakcay v Zhang Medina Garrigues v (5)Pironkova (2)Suarez Navarro v Govortsova (wc)Al Nabhani v Rogowska Hantuchova v Karolina Pliskova Daniilidou v (8)Halep (3)Vesnina v Mattek-Sands (wc)Bychkova v Rodionova Morita v Dushevina (wc)Woerle v (7)Zheng (4)Radwanska v Beygelzimer Camerin v AmanmuradovaNara v Kristyna Pliskova Chang v (6)McHale

Can you IMAGINE Sharapova being made to play qualies, ever!
Almost surprised Hantuchova wasn't parachuted into the MD.

Also, Paszek w/d, Kuznetsova ended up playing Playboywhoreska and won 6-1 6-0.
Simon Hale beat Daniilidou and then immediately w/d from her second match against Hantu due to a back injury. Retirement is imminent I'm sure, a la Szavay. Bet she wants her tits back now.

Heh, Devil Child/Robson 1R. Probably the most interesting 1R though.
Hopefully Petra gets another shot at Silliams here.

Wow, Sloane is...bad. That *2-4 game...not even close to getting balls in the court.
And she's playing CIRSTEA, the queen of not getting balls in the court.

Sloane pretty much gave up at the end.
Post-breakthrough slump isn't surprising, question will be how long it lasts...

Hantuchova qualifies 6-2, 6-2 over CSN.
As for Stephens, I'm guessing she picks things up in the American hardcourt swing?

So Sweata (QWC) took out AMG, though not easily. She is therefore now allowed to enter the sacred precincts of the Main Draw and play right alongside the other former Slam champions!

Hantu gets Kvitova.
U-Rad plays Zheng in the All-Q Bonanza.

Putintseva just broke herself to love when serving for the match, concluding with two DFs.

Much better! She was broken at 30 this time. With only one DF (on break point).

Suddenly Yulia rediscovers her ability to play great points at 5-6 down.

That match. So SEWTA. Yulia's primal scream when she finally won was amazing. God, when Annabel Croft interviewed her afterwards and had to virtually bend double. Putintseva was such a polite and charming child in the interview!

Yulia's actually really hard not to root for, on today's evidence. First time I've been impressed by her game and she really puts bad points behind her well.

I can see it now, WTA 2015: Slam finals pitting Yulia against Lauren Davis. Seriously, though, it will be hilarious if we all get to see her and all start cheering on Yulia (KAZ).

Errani v Goerges is absolutely hilarious. Sarita playing everything to the Goerges BH and eliciting the most ham-fisted errors.

Goerges finishes with 68 UEs and as sour a handshake as ever Vika w/d, so a clear run to the final for Errani

Kvitova always beats Hantuchova easily, regardless of form.
