I've been hellishly busy so I haven't looked, but.... Why wasn't Serena replaced by a LL?

Apparently they'd all left town.

Annabel's discovery of the match:
"It's like Roberta almost prefers to hit a slice bachand rather than a one-handed top spin backhand."
No shit, Sherlock.
Vinci can hit such a great variety of winners.

RT ovafanboy: Nadia finally saves a BP. Now Errani is 2/3. Nadia is 2/15. #quality RT ovafanboy: Nadia anticipated where the ball was going, and hit it 13 feet out. #but #why

Ovafanboy is awesome. We hung out at USO this year. I keep trying to get him to join the Cult but he's afraid of message boards.

Wait, Ovafanboy isn't/wasn't on TF? I thought the whole tennis Twitter crew came from there.
This whole "pushers are ruining the game" hysteria is funny to me, because when I was getting into tennis the chatter was all about how the power players like the Williamses would ruin the game.
It really pisses me off when winners or UEs are used to judge a player's quality, though. Half the points I see are dictated by mid-rally decisions that leads to one or the other player gaining the upper hand. Those aren't reflected in the stats.

He JUST joined TF, posted once, and got scared (I mean for obvious reasons there). He's just actually a general tennis fan and player who uses Twitter and then got sucked into the community.
Meanwhile, I don't even like Errani, but trashing her ranking is stupid. She made a GRAND SLAM FINAL for God's sake, preceded by a QF, and then made another SF. I mean Christ, I thought everyone was pissed off because people who suck at Slams were highly-ranked.
I HATE WHEN PEOPLE CHANGE THE RULES.

(LL) Janie would have done much better.
Petra is up 6-2 but that's not over at all. And then it would make perfect sense if she lost to Woz.

Errani v. Vinci for a spot in the final ... it's nice that Sara chose Doha and Dubai over clay court Tier IVAs since it would have been easier for her to go there and try to repeat her Tier IVA rampage of last year. But the way things are going, she is earning a lot of nice, fresh points on hardcourt so she's fine.

Finally. Kvitova breaks for *4-3 in the second set after way too many deuces. That running pass on the penultimate point =

The first will be next week, in Acapulco!

Petra takes it on her first MP, 6-2 6-4. Easy! And the next player up is even easier.

Oh, I forgot about that! My guess is her second IVA will be Palermo in July.

Half the points I see are dictated by mid-rally decisions that leads to one or the other player gaining the upper hand. Those aren't reflected in the stats. Agreed so much, but that requires watching the matches. It bugs me most watching someone like Ratwanska who wins with 2 winners and 4 UEs, and she's regarded as a nothing pusher that only wins because her opponent makes errors. Which is only true to a point. Winner/UE ratios mean so little, especially when they're graded differently by every tournament.

Errani d. Vinci again. In these BFF showdowns, one ALWAYS wins - what's up with that?

Petra wins the first set 6-3. Hope she can close it out in straights. I hate not being able to watch these matches. My laptop is dying so don't want to risk running streams on it.

What is it with laptops and streams? My laptop dies when I tried to watch them. Or videos on YouTube or whatever. So annoying.
Nowhere to watch tennis. Thanks, SEWTA. You suck.

Well I bough a new PC this year and actually now can watch 2 streams simultaneously I did it for Azza/Serena & Rafa/Nalby just this Sunday. I do the same at work sometimes, so... I guess I'm happy I didn't opt for laptop? (But I do have a tablet if I want to watch something in bed) Anyway, I'm VERY happy with the result. My fave beating my least-fave is always extra enjoyable.

Petra is turning into a bit of a vulture, isn't she? Sweeping the post-Olympic USO Series, sweeping Dubai after everyone pulled out...I'm not complaining, though. Just hope she parlays this into something that matters soon. And as Lady said, Petra beating up on Woz is always welcome (not to mention, obvious).

Errani gets broken after her first UE in history at deuce, followed by Petra's first successful passing shot* in history on break point. Then Petra holds at love for 4-1.
*yes Errani is RUSHING THE NET ON EVERY POINT

Huge credit to Errani for making this something of a match after being killed in the first set. Net skills key.
