Dang, that sounds good! But I checked, and my DVR isn't giving me a choice of a No Strings episode starring EB, so maybe her run is over for now. I chose a Nat Dechy episode as a poor substitute. But knowing the Tennis Channel, I'll probably end up with Roddick or Hewitt.

You never know with that channel.
I've seen that CENTER COURT WITH TATIANA GOLOVIN. YOUNG STARLET TURNING THE TENNIS WORLD UPSIDE DOWN WITH THE TREND-SETTING STYLES commercial literally a hundred times and have never seen that show on.
Yet, Bovina, at least a handful of times! No sense!

EB isn't playing this week or next, but is in the qualy field for the Cagnes-sur-Mer 100K starting April 28. Just today she withdrew from a competing ITF event for that week, so we know she's still alive. She's currently on the alt. list for the Zagreb 75K the following week, and is sure to get in there, too, if she doesn't withdraw. I hope she's over in Europe already, practicing moving around on the red dirt. What I don't understand is why she never enters the Tier 3s and 4s going on at the same time as these challengers; she could definitely make the qualy field in those. Last year I was wishing she'd enter at least a few challengers, and this year I'm wishing she'd enter at least a few WTA events. What's wrong with trying a mix of both; does it have to be all or nothing with her? I'd be happy to make up an ideal schedule for her if she'd give me a quick call.

I don't think there's many she would have gotten into so far this year. Other than Estoril and Memphis/Acapulco week.

I was thinking of Estoril, Prague, Fes, Istanbul, Strasbourg -- basically, the Brie Whitehead Spring Series.

25k's might be better for now.
If we can't beat Alexis Gordon and the 2nd Gullickson, we're not ready for WTA events.

Good point. Alexis Gordon is turning out to be not bad, though; turns out she's an ex-college player. Chelsey also is off to an amazing start. Still, an ordinary, good player would beat them in their current form.

Lena will be seeded in Saint-Gauden qualies. The Q draw should come out tonight; qualies start tomorrow. Please get a good draw, Lena! Fortunately Pandzic has moved into the MD, so Lena can't draw her in qr1.

Win one match over a 600th ranked bumpkin, and we double our point total this year. Let's do it.

Actually, looking at that draw, I don't know who Elena could beat right now, except maybe that worst one of the WCs.

Alinka has been pretty dreadful herself, losing to Janie's Alex Stevenson.
It's a winnable match.
Then Cetkovska, who we'd probably get injured before facing.

Leena, you are so smart! You won't be as surprised as I was to see this:
Elena BOVINA (RUS) defeated Alina JIDKOVA (RUS) 36 62 60
Hope you're wrong about the injury, though -- no need for you to be right 2 times in a row. ;D

Much needed win. Oh, and she doesn't play Cetkovska next. That's 3rd round. The ITF site always confuses me. Either a Q or LL in Round 2. Win! Then, she'll be injured after that. But, hopefully not. St. Gaudens has 6 LL's in the draw. Take advantage of them being blown to bits in Lebanon!

There's a series of 25K's in Russia starting next week, all with terrible entry lists where she'd be MD seeded, and Elena isn't in any of them. But, we're in the 75K Rome event for the 1st round RG losers, which we have no chance of getting into.

So close! Elena lost 57 64 67(6) -- she had 2 MP's Still, I'm not going to complain. Cetkovska is ranked 77 and crushed her first 2 opponents here; she shouldn't even be playing 50K's. Yet Lena almost took her out. She probably just lacked that last measure of confidence and got all tentative. I still think things are looking up -- as long as she didn't re-injure something today, or get some brand-new injury. This was definitely her best tournament in a long time and I hope she feels good about it and ready to roll.

Comparing scores is fallible, but Cetkovska beat A-Bond 3 & 0 today.
Tons of WD's for Rome, so she'll be in qualies.

Dokic got a MDWC in Rome, so at least EB won't be meeting her in Qr1.

Nearly 6 years since the epic tanking that changed both their careers... Elena will have a difficult time qualifying here anyway.
