just pick a team to support....*cough* England lol. Very subtle . I've always cheers for the Germans, but they are in worse form, plus they are in a tough group. I like to cheer for Spain, if nothing, I still feel a little sad for the WC set back bcos of some very bad luck (or bad referee). And I also like the Portugese (they have the home advantage and Figo). So in a word, I'm going for the underdogs ;D. (might as well also cheer for Latvia ).

I admit, tact isn't one of my strong points Not the Germans Our enemies! lol. Mmm when England went out of a tourny, I used to pick another team but now I dont care. Figo? Getting on now ;D OK, he's still a very classy player. I want Latvia to do well, purely based on the fact that they knocked Turkey out

I know it's not very nice of me, but if they, Italy and Spain go out early, the media entertainment afterwards would be simply hilarious; blaming the refs, conspiracy theories about UEFA I can't wait!

Ahhh, well, you know, there's always easier to deal with disappointment by blaming it on somebody else.

Me too. Although I used to want them to win because of my tiny crush on Nesta (Tiny? Hm) But when I saw him playing in a big woolly poloneck shirt that went right out of the window! Nah......hes a good defender and everything but I dont like the way you play. Hey Vera, you're impressing me with all your posts in here you know ;D

Oh really? Thx. I didn't know much. But Canada is better the States, I think we have a high percentage of European population here (like I said, every other person has a cousin in England). So we have a few football programs here. I don't watch in a regular basis (don't always watch the Europeans' leagues, at least not when hockey season is on , that I would be too busy). But I watch the major stuffs. My sister said I like every sport that involved a round object, she's right, except baseball which is not so round mind you.

Nothing wrong with admiring the other appealing quality of those sportsmen, eh ? There are mere good quality to make it more fun to watch ;D. That tells me why I hate American Football, nothing fun about watching those 300 pounds Gorilla going at each other .

They are not only gigantic, they are usually stupid considering the college system in this country is incredibly corrupted.

If we only want to watch good looking guys, we could have got a kick out of watching all those daytime soaps. But there's always those men who would feel so insecure to not wanting to achknowledge that women could share the same interest with them, as if it would make them last superior in some way. But we know why really got us watching, that's the only important thing.

It really does frustrate me as someone who has had an interest in sports all my life, its the way my dad brought me up, kicking a ball about, taking me to swimming lessons etc. Still......doesnt hurt that there are some good looking guys ;D Only adds to the entertainment. But the sooner some people realise that thats not what its all about, the better.

They are not only gigantic, they are usually stupid considering the college system in this country is incredibly corrupted. I supposed some quarterbacks are pretty good looking, comparatively of course. But I still don't like that they have those thick necks and oversize muscles above the collar bones that make their shoulders slide to a 45 degree. Football is just a very raw kind of sports IMO.

Maybe it's because men almost exclusively watch women's sports because they think the players are hotties. That too ;D. I remember long ago when my friend at work saw that I was going to play tennis after work, he asked me who's my favorite player and I told him Rafter (at that time it was). He laughed and said how typical is that I like Rafter. Then I told him why I like Rafter and he's like: oh, okay. He was a little shock that I actually know his game in details. Then I asked him who he likes, and guess who, Kournikova . And he admitted that it's all about looks because he doesn't watch tennis.

It did yes. We defended awfully that night and I didn't think that they were that special. The fact that we never actually lost against them and yet they were the ones that got through Big club, big squad like Liverpool shouldn't be losing to FC Basle. Bitterness isn't a good thing. If you are going to be bitter about something then Man U jagging that Champs League in 99, when they beat Bayern. The best team in Europe that year was Dynamo Kyiv, but they were stupid and got beaten by Bayern in the semis.

Latins love the conspiracy theories, then again some times people need to have a good look at themselves, whether they like it or not. Figo with his monobrow always looks unhappy, even when he is happy. So Luis speaks a bit of Swedish, as well as English, Spanish and Catalan along with Portuguese.

Maybe it's because men almost exclusively watch women's sports because they think the players are hotties. I don't generally watch womens sport. Though I did watch the women's handball at the Olympics and it wasn't because they were hotties at all. Volleyball has more female hotties which I didn't pay and watch.
