He was. He was a true professional and I miss him a lot. I just used to love watching him, he could do magic with the ball.

3 portugese scored but it was a tight match at the end . Portugal sure knows how to keep their fans on the edge . A sigh of relief for Andrade . Congrats to the host country for reaching their first ever major tournament final. Good luck in Final.

Francine, Ilhame and all dutch fans. You guys must be so upset. That Advocaat dude really makes no sense. Why did he sub Overmaars, the best Holland player in the first half? That guy is stranger than the well-known weirdo swedish coaches Söderberg/Lagerbäck. He confuses everybody. Still, that Portuguese team is on fire.

Portugal deserved to win, no doubt about it. Holland didn't even score and only had a few chances, one big one for Overmars in the first half but Portugal had more and better chances. Advocaat substituted Overmars because he's getting too old, he can't play a full match anymore. I'm not too disspapointed, considering we almost didn't make it into the quarters and my expectations weren't high to begin with. The loss 4 years ago was far more dissapointing. Anyway, for the Czechs! they derve to win it.

Greece vs. Portugal in the final. Gre-Cze pretty good match, Cze had their chances, but didn't take them, bad luck with Nedved's injury, perhaps he could've unlocked the greek defense. Greece also had some good chances to score, looked tired at the end of 2nd half, suddenly bursting to life in the first 15 min of extra-time, having the best chances and finally scored in the 15 min(!). Felt anticlimactic if you ask me, but I can't say the greeks didn't deserve to win less than the czechs. Portugal has a chance now to avenge the loss from the opening game.

Well, GWH got his wish Another non-favorite will win the title The friend of mine who was staying with me is from Cyprus, Cypriot Greek of course, and he left the day before the semi final, then I get a phone call at 7am, the guy is deliriously happy. To tell you the truth whoever wins this tournament. I will be happy with the result, though I would have rather the Czechs win. As Aphex said the Greeks looked out of it, then in extra time they surged and bringing on Stelios was a key to this. Though I think Matlock Bruckner the Czech coach didn't use his bench and bring on Heinz, when the situation cried out for it. Nedved is the soul and heartbeat of the team, and sure that didn't help the Czechs, but they had enough chances to put it away, but credit the Greeks for their persistance and not lacking self-belief and finishing the stronger. This would be a bizarre sporting year Gaudio winning the French, Greece winning the Euro and all it would need is Ancic to win Wimbledon.

My prediction for the final Gre-Por: 1-1 after full time. Greece will get an early goal and will defend themselves hard like they always do, but this time they will crack and Postiga will equalise for Portugal in the 79th minute. 3-3 after extra-time. Yes, I know it's unlikely, but the match will go nuts in extra-time two goals in every quarter, making up for the boring play in regular. 9-8 to Greece after penalties. Portuguese goalie Ricardo will try to pull the same stunt he did vs. England, only this time he will fail. Greece Euro champs 04

Congratulations Greece, what a boilover and if anyone said they would be Euro 2004 champions before the tournament, they would laugh very hard and put you in a straitjacket. They played to their best of the abilities and believed in King Otto, and took their chances when they came. Enjoy the moment, and the Olympics won't be happening now.
