Norman's great run last year only made it all the more satisfying to see him fall apart on Sunday.

Turnberry is a short, very linksy course where a geezer could win. Watson is probably too old at nearly 60, though. And I doubt Tiger can come back.

I really would like it if anyone cool and skinny won. Please.

God, Jimenez is ugly as sin. But...his interview was pretty amusing.

Tigre +5! He gets better-looking every major, though, I have to say. His guns are bangin'.

Some guy I've LITERALLY never heard of in the lead, followed by two fogies. Way to go, alleged superstars of golf.

Okay, I like this Marino kid. He seems fairly happy-go-lucky, which is a lot easier to be if you were an ALT entrant and have never played a links course before than if you were a surly mofo expected to win every event you enter. Although it would be nice if another pudge didn't win a major in this "sport." Meanwhile, Tigre did finish at +5 and will almost certainly not make the cut

Tiger, wow. That's stunning.
I like Watson, but hate that the media will squeeze every bit of story out of this. He has no chance of winning... he should have shot like 75 today, and he can't maintain this level as he's been washed up on the geezer tour for years. Please prove me wrong.
But, none of the top 13 are attractive. A lot of fatties. Especially Calc, geez. And I don't have McBooobs to HATE and wish breast cancer upon. Hrmph.

It just would make everyone look awful if a near-60-year-old won. The current "stars" of golf, with the exception of Tigre and Manboobs, are so women's tennis.

Golf is different. Especially on a course like this where length means nothing, unlike every American course.

It is different. It's not a sport.
What's the point of being in good shape if you can be hideously old (sorry Janie) or hideously fat (sorry Fatbecca) and win majors? Gah.
I still like watching and playing (like once a year before I get frustrated and impatient) but this is not athletics.

According to an ABC commentator, because I feel that way, I "don't care for golf."
I think he has it backwards, but whatever.

I watching the telly at the bar tonight. They were showing athletics. Every time I looked up, somebody sexy was jumping around. Then, I looked up on a commercial, and there were golfers. This was upsetting.

I've never seen more barely missed putts in my life. Men's golf! Then you haven't watched much women's golf! Tom Watson already set a record yesterday: "oldest player to lead a major at the end of a round". Sadly, that is probably the only record he's going to be breaking this year. But as a fellow baby boomer, I'll be rooting for him right up till the inevitable rot sets in.

I'll admit it, I'm cheering for the ol' geezer. I really think he could do it. And most importantly, there's a bunch of noobs and chokers behind him. So, Thomas will obviously bogey the first 5 holes and sucks losts.

I don't think it will, but I think it'd be fantastic if it somehow would. Remember poor Tom lost his great friend and caddy to that sickening disease ALS a few years ago. He seems like a genuinely good guy and I'd love to see him finish this out.
Unfortunately my sister is not interested in golf and she also seems to be in a bad mood today, so I can't hijack her tv and watch the finish. Maybe I'll be glad I didn't see it, if TW has a meltdown and starts hitting triple-bogeys, but he's hung in there mentally so far, which is already amazing. Wish I weren't nervous about it; I might take out my bike and try to forget about Tom!

Westwood tee shot on the eagle hole into the deep rough. Game over, Sergio. Game over, Adam. Game over, Ian. Monty -- he's 59 and you can't win one. Fuck this shit.

Westwood tee shot on the eagle hole into the deep rough. Miraculously, he hit a great second shot. Where did Cink come from.
