Westwood tee shot on the eagle hole into the deep rough. Miraculously, he hit a great second shot. And he bogeyed it anyway, and it suspiciously looked like a tank. Women's tennis. This would be like Virginia Wade winning Wimbledon again.

Now what's happening? Can't believe I'm following GOLF on a scoreboard.

LOL!!! Watson hit his putt to win about...four inches.
Four-hole playoff, cumulative score: Watson vs. Cink.
As we all expected.

I thought Cink had won a major before!

the leaderboard I was following doesn't seem to be showing the playoff ...
okay, moved to pga.com; they've got a playoff SB set up. But this time I really am going out on my bike. Tom Watson = Elena D, and we all know how it's going to end.

They JUST teed off this minute.

So TW bogeyed the very first hole? At least I like Cink okay. Better than Melinda Czink!

Heh, I was going to call him Stewart "Melinda" Cink Watson shot a 7 on the third playoff hole

I'm tired of sports. Let's face it, sports is all about chokes!

At least this result means golf REMAINS a sport.
Barely.

That ending was so painful to watch. The choke putt by Watson at 18... aaaaaggggg.
At least Cink played amazing in the playoff. It probably didn't matter what Tom did. Glad that Cink won, especially after his own massive choke at the US Open a few years ago.

Norman in the lead

Post by janie on Jul 26, 2009 16:32:33 GMT -5
"Greg Norman, the third-round leader, missed birdie chances at the first three holes and double-bogeyed the 17th after driving into trees. Norman finished in a tie for sixth place, three strokes behind the leaders."Wouldn't really have mattered even if he did win. Tom Watson contending at the start was the only reason this Geezer event was in the "sports" news. The winner, Loren Roberts, does get a spot in the REAL British Open next year.

Huh, Loren Roberts, eh? Didn't think he was of geezer age yet!

Loren has been dominating the geezer tour for years.

boo Unless something fun happens, like Daly winning.

Daly in contention amuses me, because he's the model USian and the media loves him for it. Fat, slovenly, undisciplined, yet plays golf with reckless, aggressive brute force. Oh, America.

Here is my usual plea for someone with star quality to finally break through: Sergio, Ian, Rory, Camilo, others.
Here is what is going to happen: random mid-range American or this Louis Oosterhausiziefs person.

Or Tiger. He can play 20% like Serena and still win at St. Andrew's.

I should also note again that I despise this tournament. 50% of the field is eliminated every year due to weather.

I don't mind that, as long as it's players I dislike who are eliminated. I like to see the elements win once in a while in the ageless Man vs the elements war.

Today was fun. I like Oosthuizen and Casey. Basically, everyone in contention is just fine.
I really wanted Calc to win, though. He's old, fat, grumpy and doesn't care. Like a cartoon character of every Italian dad.

Wow, Oosthuizen didn't choke! Please join the WTA; they need you! The LPGA could use you, too. The "new" Tiger Still cussin' out there, I see. Only difference is that these days it becomes a headline, complete with youtube clips, instead of being ignored because everyone's scared of Tiger Power. I love this new golf world! Anyway I missed the entire Open, as I am missing all sports this summer, now that my sister moved away and took her tv.
