We lost a last min goal to lose the game to the Wings. I'm depressed. And I wonder who's PP is better, the Wings or the Avs. They scored 2 PP goals on us, the first one took 9 seconds, the second one took 5 seconds . Our PK is embarrassing.

Hi Lee Was the Devils that bad too? I only know the Ducks still hasn't win a game, and they lost to Boston at OT today . Since the Canucks lost to the Wings the other day, I suddenly lost a little interest in keeping track of the game... They did manage to savage a tie against the Gaborik-less Wilds the other day with a last min tying game. The Oilers beat the Avs yesterday 6-3 or sth like that . I planned to watch Hockey Night, but didn't manage to keep my eyes open during the game. I wonder how they did that ;D.

The Devils are a little bit better than the Ducks as they have a win and 1 or 2 tie. And the GF is 2 for the Ducks after 4 games. Let's say they are quite the sitting ducks this season.
It's pretty amazing that Oilers won 6-3 vs Alvs. Since I hardly watched hockey games here, no idea how they did it.
It seems the Coyotes are pretty good in marketing here. Lots of the people I know here (although a very small group) with kids follow the Yotes. Many kids are in roller or inline skates and love to play and watch ice hockey.

Well, that's great. I hope NHL can really blossom in your town, bcos I hate to see The Great One losing all his hard earned money for the love of the game. The Canucks' owner had his first ever positive earning year from the Canucks since he bought the team in like 95. It's good that he has so much money to burn but you would think he'll get tired of losing money sooner or later. So I almost felt obligated to buy their hotdogs when I'm in the stadium watching the Canucks so they can make an extra buck here and there.
The Oilers in leading in our division now (ahead of the Nucks and the Avs). Way to go, I want another lower budget team to gain success too.
And the Thrashers is really coming strong. Well, too bad it took them a tradegy to get to this point. But at least something good comes out of that and Synder would be pride that he's such an inspiration to his teammates. I wish them a good year too.

Hello again The Avs have not been as big killers as I would have thought. And the Ducks are yucks. Why in hell did I chose Giguere to be my goalie?? UGH! I just kicked Potvin and signed DiPietro. I hope it works better, because my goalies are SHIT. I got to see ONE match so far this year ESPN sucks.

Hi Diss Wondering where you were these days, must be busy. Ahhhh, no worries, Jiggy will come around, I hope. If there's any consolation, my goalies had only like 1 win combined . The Wings sent Cujo to minor Not surprised by just plain furious as Wings is about to destroy Cujo's career Associated Press DETROIT -- Even before he knew he was going to the minors, Curtis Joseph showed he was willing to do it if it meant he could finally play. Joseph, a longtime NHL standout who has been on the trading block since the Detroit Red Wings reacquired Dominik Hasek, was assigned Monday to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL. Red Wings spokesman John Hahn said Joseph needs conditioning as he recovers from an operation in August to remove bone chips from his right ankle. "[Derek] Jeter went down to take some hits after his shoulder injury and he's a pretty good player," Joseph said following Detroit's practice in Montreal earlier Monday, before the move was made. Joseph was Detroit's starting goalie last season with a 34-19 record. He had a 2.76 goals-against average in the regular season. "He needs some extra work to get him into game shape following his surgery," Hahn said. "The plan is to have him stay through Friday night's game, and we will re-evaluate the situation." Hahn said "it'd be a matter of when" Joseph rejoins the Red Wings. The AHL Griffins said in a statement that Joseph was expected to join the team for practice Wednesday and to play when they host the Utah Grizzlies on Friday. The Red Wings found themselves with one too many goaltenders when Hasek came out of retirement in July. So far, Detroit has not had success in trading Joseph, who has two years and $16 million left on his contract. "It's tough for everybody," Joseph said. "We all want to get in the net. We all want to work. We just have to make the best of a bad situation, no question." --------------------------------- Well, 2nd period about to start and my Canucks is leading comfortably at 3-0. No sweat, I'm gonna enjoy the rest of the game.

Kariya is out indefinitely with a wrist injury. Hopefully, it's not too serious. And Elmo is still out, they said is day-to-day but it's been day-to-day for more than a week. Ouch, Alex, his back is killing him . I went to check my standing, amazingly, my 3 goalies combined has registered ZERO win. My question is, is Nabokov going to win a game any time soon?

It seems the Ducks waked up after my last post, winning 2 consecutive games. What's wrong with the Atlantic division NJ, Pittsburgh and NY are all 5-1-2-2. What a shame!

Never thought NJ will be in the same sentence with Pitt and NYR. But the champ is struggling and I'm not exactly feeling too sorry for them. Maybe they will do what Dallas did, win the Cup and miss playoff the next year . The canadian teams came out of the gate pretty well: Habs 5-2-0-0 ;D Sens 4-1-0-1 Leafs 3-2-2-0 Nucks 4-2-1-0 Flames 3-2-0-0 Oils 3-4-0-0 Just realized that the Oils fell below 500 .

Sorry I can't contribute to this thread as I'm not a hockey fan but I do hope everyone's fave teams do really well this season! Bad enough our fave tennis guys sometimes let us down and make our lives crazy! Team sports can be exciting but also frustrating... that's why I stopped following the Blue Jays! [and I don't care about the World Series cos I'm sick of the Yankees... so go FISH!!! :lmao: ]

Hi RF, don't worry, you don't have to know hockey to be in this thread. I don't care too much about the World Series, but I can't cheer for the Marlins, so I guess I'll just go with the Yanks, yuck! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Wow, the only undefeated teams so far is Thrashers and the Lightnings . How things has changed. But I'm glad that Lightnings has carried on it's good form from last year so they were just a fluke of last year.

My boys in Calgary and here Phoenix are doing well so far. Flames is 4-3-0 and Coyotes is 3-3-2.
Flames players seem to finally find their scoring touches with 4 goals vs Oiler. They scored only 9 goals in first 7 games :red:

Lee, the Yotes are pretty good last nite. We were in complete control leading by 2 and they looked like a tired crowd, then all in a sudden, there's a 2 min span of 4 on 4 and they seemed to get a second wind from out of nowhere and scored twice. Then at the end when we were leading 3-2, they tied the game at the second last min . So the tie for us tasted like a loss.

Great, I hire two new goalies, and all of a sudden DiPietro starts playing like shit (the Islanders are down 4-0 to the Pointy-tails of all people : and Potvin (one of the bastards I kicked) gets the starter of a good game instead of the rookie Raycroft. I officially S-U-C-K at that game. Oh well, at least LeClair came back and scored a goal and an assist out of nowhere. Too bad I had no idea and had him seating on the bench. LMAO! GO AVS tonight. The turnaround starts today!

Don't worry Diss, there's always me there to make you look good . ;D My goalies, 2 Wins combined so far . And I can't believe that Biron is the player of the week last week and somehow, I benched him when he was getting the wins. So today, Buf was playing Min so my 2 goalies, Biron and Fernandez are facing each other in Buf (and my other goalie is also playing), so i think it would be a good bet to put Biron in and bench Fernandez. Sure enough, Min beat Buf in Buf . I gave up, either all my goalies suck, or I'm a jinx . Good thing I don't have any Canucks goalies in my team.

We played the Kings last night. It wasn't pretty, we had 12 shot on goals the whole nite and the Kings had like 37. We won though, 3-1 ;D. Felt back for Cechmanek got chased, cos we didn't had a shot on goal for like 16 plus min and then the first shot on goal in the 2nd period, he let it in. Great start of the season for my Canucks so far We'll meet the Coyotes tonight at Phoenix, do ur tv broadcast any Coyotes game? Last time, they visited us and tied us up. This time, we are looking for payback. But of course we are visiting and also a back-to-back game, they definitely have to play better than last night, unless we are as lucky as last night.

BTW, forgot to mention the other nite on HNIC, they were showing Calgary vs Edmonton. LMAO as there's 3 fights broke out within 24 seconds of the first period . Is that a typical battle of Albertas? They haven't even have time to work up the temper to get into fights. And last nite, the Wings and the Predators, 10 fights, 210 penalty mins dished out . And who else but the likes of Shanny and Chelios, men in 40s, but not enough to mellow the temper . Okay, part of the game, eh, the ugly part.

Flames shut out Columbus 3-0 and finally, a defenceman scored a goal. I just found out Al McInnis career may be over with another surgery to repair his retina. He's 40 already. He's such a nice guy with the most fearful snap shot. Hope he's OK!

Well, best wishes for Al, you never know, who would have thought StevieY can still be great. Tampa is still the only unbeaten team in the league . Dammit, Hasek is out for injury so Cujo finally can play, but then he hurt himself again and now he can't play . Dammit, bcos I so want him to play tomorrow against us, Legacy had a way better record against Van than Cujo . Everyone here knows where to shoot when Cujo comes in town. Diss, I'm so mad at Gaborik that I wanted to quit the game. I waited for him for months, then he said he's leaving and going home without a deal, so I finally decided to drop him. And just one day after I dropped him, he signed the Wilds. I felt tricked. Then the next few days, I waited for him to clear waiver so that I can pick him up again. I thought he's off waiver today at Nov 1. So last nite I came home very early in the morning (like 1am) and thought he should be cleared waiver so I logged on, but I still can't pick him. This morning, he was picked by another team. I'm just pissed now. Alright, i told myself that it's just a game and I shouldn't let this bother me. But oh well, I'm pretty competitive when it comes to game, and hockey .

Don't mind me, I was just furious that he got picked by someone else. After a delicious sandwiches I made myself, I think I've walked it off. Truth is, I was hoping that he won't come back this season. Bcos he's the Canucks killer last season and the one who destroyed out playoff hope. So Canucks would be better off if Gaborik went home, but he didn't . And if he was in my team, at least I can benefit from his return, now it's just a lose-lose situation for me. Anyway, the Canucks are doing great, best ever season opening month and unbeaten at home so far. But the test is coming when the Wings comes into town tomorrow. Wings are on 4 games winless streak. So we better don't lose to them when they are slumping.

Hi again! Hi Vera. I understand your frustration. *hug* Well, now you have one more reason to hate Gaborik. LeClair is out if his mind! I thought he would play well when he got healthy, but not in my sweetest dreams he would fix the whole Philly team and get 2 goals and 3 assists in his first 4 games!! I changed my goalies again. I put Giggy to sit. I dont know how long he will be there, he HAS to get better sometime. I refuse to accept he was a fluke. Oh well, at least Fedorov started doing something and the Ducks are slowly getting better. Anyway, I kicked Raycroft and got the Flames goalie McLennan.
