Interesting to see Hendler go to the weak Japanese circuit to get some points. She certainly deminated the competition, losing nary a set.
Believe it or not... There was a $10K in Antalya last week! And there's another one this week! Will wonders never cease. The winner last week was Chieh-Yu "Connie" HSU (USA). It looks like Hsu has just finished her first year at Penn Uni (Ivy league, smart girl!), and this is her second $10K title this summer.

Let's hope the best fisherwoman among the tennis players hooks the top prize in California. ;D Al Nabhani for all of those wondering who that might be. It says in her ITF profile. De Beer, Krivencheva and Tedjakusuma all here. I know they feel at home playing these USTA Challengers but I thought they'd be retired by now.

Surprised Barbat still has the gall to show her face. I know! And Barbat Sr. was never arrested. Since you can stab players on the court with impunity in Germany, I can't imagine that an arrest or any consequences will ever happen from just beating someone up. Great news is that Tamaela's back this week, in the 25K in Rotterdam. She needed 3 sets to get past a local bumpkinette, but at least she's playing again.

Hey, I didn't name it "Re:", the board is adding that itself. In case anyone is worrying that I'm coming down with Alzheimer's, let me reassure you that eventually I did realize that I (obviously) must have accidentally copied/pasted a title with the "Re:" in it to start this new thread. I don't want to be a Serena and cling to my delusions forever!

Schoofs ranks alongside Schnack in Names That Are Fun To Say Out Loud. Ningbo 100K final is Sema Minor against the Yak. Erika should beat her older sister's career high now. The Drop Shot Dame in the Sofia 100K final Against Soler Espinosa, who appears to be the latest ESP grinder to clog up the top 100. LIE in the Rotterdam 25K SF

How thrilling - The Yak won that Ningbo 100k.
Not approved.
There's been a serious lack of Erikas in the top 100 since De Lone, so we're in need for another one. Luckily she'll have plenty of weak Asian 50k + challengers left to play in the next few months.

Indonesians winning matches outside INA! The semis were not a pleasant experience for them: Casey DELLACQUA (AUS) (6) defeated Ayu-Fani DAMAYANTI (INA) (7) 6-1 6-0 Sandra ZANIEWSKA (POL) defeated Jessy ROMPIES (INA) 6-2 6-0 The final is not important. Or I should say, only the doubles final is important. Final DAMAYANTI (INA) / ROMPIES (INA) (3) defeated ALVES (BRA) / MURRAY (GBR) 6-3 6-3 /me always likes to see Murray (GBR) on the losing side.
