Dear friends, The time has come to come right out and ask: If anyone actually wants me to continue posting HW news/results/draws here, please let me know now. I really enjoy it, but no sense posting only for my own amusement and that of the odd lurker.

Well, the board is sadly on a life support. I don't think we can keep it all together.

Thanks for responding, Paean. You've been a great addition to this board. Now I root for (almost) all SLOs. But, yeah, this challenger/junior section is defunct. R.I.P. Maybe people will come back to the main forum for the very large tournaments or the Slams, or some might keep coming periodically to the chat part -- or maybe not. I know for sure I'll be checking in to see, to the very end.

Hi Janie, I don't come much, I know but when I do happy to see last posts from you, etc. I keep hoping, and will keep coming, as you say, until the end.

Okay, well, I can't stop following the bumpkinettes; it's hard-wired in me. So maybe I'll post about them here again, now and then.

This was great to see; too bad it's just in a 25LK:
(wc)Samantha Crawford (USA) d. (1)Shelby Rogers (USA) 75 76(4)
Even better, Crawford won her 2nd match, too. Let's see if she can finally start getting some momentum going or not.

If anyone stops by and wonders why I am posting to myself: well, that's exactly what I do on Twitter, so why not here. At least here I can easily come back and see the draw I posted earlier. Still hoping Paean and Alex will return, of course, but meanwhile I will regard this as my blog with no followers.

Turns out this tournament matters a lot to some players. spiceboy of TF tells us:
Next Monday it will be the Q cut-off date for Roland Garros Q.
Kremen and Rodionova need to win 2 matches to get in Cohen and Hsu need to win 3 matches to get in El Tabakh, Kolar and Sanchez need to reach the final to get in González and Eikkeri need to win the title to get in
Rest of the players, (except Chirico, Townsend and the rest of Q who have no chance to get in) are guaranteed a place in RG qualies.
**These projection with the usual 217-220 Q cut-off for Paris.

So Min won Dothan, and Townsend snagged her first pro title in Charlottesville. Here's what Indian Harbor Beach, the last leg of the RG WC competition has to offer:

(3)Melanie Oudin (USA) v Sofiya Kovalets (UKR) (SE)Taylor Townsend (USA) v Petra Rampre (SLO) Chieh-Yu Hsu (USA) v (wc)Sanaz Marand (USA) (8)Allie Kiick (USA) v (wc)Josie Kuhlman (USA)
(6)Grace Min (USA) v Q Heidi El Tabakh (CAN) v Q Elitsa Kostova (BUL) v Julia Boserup (USA) (4)Veronica Cepede Royg (PAR) v Olga Puchkova (RUS)
(7)Yulia Putintseva (KAZ) v Mayo Hibi (PN) (wc)Allie Will (USA) v Maria Sanchez (USA) (wc)Asia Muhammad (USA) v Melanie Klaffner (AUT) (2)Michelle Larcher De Brito (OR) v Ilona Kremen (BLR)
Hard to believe Rampre is the defending champion!
