Petkorazzi, what a disappointing nothing you've turned out to be today. Now Stosur cements her spot in the Top Ten and you'll probably retire with your one week. Nice job and keep working on those dance moves! And AP breaks back, right on cue. ;D Sometimes they need a pep talk from Daddy. Flavia's back on serve too.

No mention of Zuluaga yet! Zuluaga at least bookended her BBQ with multiple Bogota runs.

Zuluaga got lucky when Mauresmo withdrew. Although I can't possibly remember how she got to that QF match in the first place. Clarisa beat Kim 6-4 6-0 in R3 What a nightmare tournament it was for the Belgium sisters who were supposed to light up the world back then. Kim also had an early loss at Wimbly, if I'm not mistaken.

I have a vague memory of Zuluaga beating Vesnina in the last 16, in Vesnina's debut Slam.
Why do I remember that.

Didn't the Cibulkova-Woz match at Wimbledon start like this?
Anyway, both of the P girls have clawed their way back, but I have faith that they will lose in the end!

Yes, I'm not sure if it was just a sophomore slump or a shoulder injury or something. She lost to Likhovtseva at Wimbledon in 2002.

OK, the murderers' row that was Zuluaga's road to the AO '04 semis: Asagoe, Diaz Oliva, Craybas, Kapros, Mauresmo w/o. I think Mandula lost to Kapros in an epic all-HUN battle in the 3R or 4R. 12-10 in the third or something. I was royally pissed at my longtime wife!

I really did think we were through with Stosur, as she's had a terrible year. But all credit to her for putting together a decent summer. Of course she'll play a horrible match in the final against Serena or Caroline, which will just be...typically irksome. You guys need to bow down to my sageness on Stosur. She got game, yo!

Of course, to be perfectly honest, there is officially NOBODY left I want to see winning this title. I wouldn't mind Flavia Flav pulling a Fran. They can do that in the sexual sense too, I guess. Serena's only use for me is as a nuclear weapon against players I hate more, as when she silences Maria. That...kind of applies here. I refuse to acknowledge Stosur's game. It's exposed the minute she runs into someone tall enough to deal with her topspin. This summer she's just drawn her bitches, Li and Bepa, over and over again.
