And the USTA may regret playing around the schedule like they are. Weather forecasts look better, but NYC will still be under a moist air mass through the next week. Popup showers/t'storms can and likely will happen.

I fell asleep after the second set TB yesterday, waking up to a scoreline like this is pure hilarity. Snotso is such a tard.

Even Clarisa Fernandez had more business being in the Slam Semifinal than Kerber. Wrong, it's all going wrong in this sport.

The US Open is officially worse than Wimbledon Who'd have thought in the 70s that the Australian and French would end up being superior Slams to Wimbledon and the US Open? Billie Jean's going to have to talk up a storm to further denigrate the Australian and Margaret Court's record. In what way is RG superior to Wimbledon? Angelique Indo-Pak at 6-5 15-30 in the 3rd, win plz. 1. No stupid Middle Sunday. 2. Played on a more relevant playing surface for the players of today. And yes, Indo-Pak win plz.

Wimbledon grass > hardcourts. Hardcourts need to be abolished.
If it wasn't for stupid Middle Sunday, I'd put USO last.

Hurley's reminder about Serena's last nighttime USO semi was hilarious. Fucking ball may meet fucking throat at long last.
Nobody commented on Fed's win? That is fucking decisive. I think ... he's going to beat Djokovic. The crowd will be 95% for him and 5% Serbian lunatics. And Rog is raking the ball. It seems to me that he's just decided to go balls deep on every forehand. He's maxing it out, fuck it if he makes some errors. He knows he needs to do it against the other Three.

I have a vague memory of Zuluaga beating Vesnina in the last 16, in Vesnina's debut Slam. Why do I remember that. All the more so as it didn't happen. Vesnina's debut was at the 2006 AO. Big hole in the draw (IIRC Savchuk vs Vesnina was a 3R match). She lost in the 4R indeed, but to Petrova - in a match that for some reason was televised in its entirety, even though the 2006 AO was the only Slam all the stars of that era played (both sisters, Davenport, Pierce, Henin, Clijsters, Hingis, Myskina, Kuznetsova, Sharapova, Mauresmo) and you'd think there were more compelling 4R matches to broadcast. I remember this well as that match was one of the first writeups/reports I ever posted at WTAW. ZoMG!1!! Kerber unwarranted. She played out of her mind, hit the ball superbly, probably much better than she herself ever thought she could do. Too bad about that serve.
