Stosur was close to finished. She finally dropped out of the top 10, and then she started drawing Lee Na, one of her bitches, as her seed every week on the US hardcourts.
And this draw was a joke, too. Bepa. And the only player with the game to trouble her was Nadezhda, and you know how that shit goes.

Positive for the Stosur haters, though: Flavia has dominated their H2H, and I think Kerber would have a good shot against her, as well. She's a big girl.

The final is Sunday at 4pm for the women now. Wouldn't they rather have it Saturday night? There's no reason not to... 3 matches in 3 days, SEWTA does that every week. It is a bit strange. Maybe the Armstrong court debacle is a reason.

The US Open is officially worse than Wimbledon Who'd have thought in the 70s that the Australian and French would end up being superior Slams to Wimbledon and the US Open? Billie Jean's going to have to talk up a storm to further denigrate the Australian and Margaret Court's record. In what way is RG superior to Wimbledon? Angelique Indo-Pak at 6-5 15-30 in the 3rd, win plz.

Prior to Dallas, Kerber had only won 5 WTA matches all year. Only one of those above MM level (and that was over Gallovits-Hall at Miami). The odd thing is that before Dallas, Petkovic predicted Kerber would reach top 30 by the end of the year. It may have just been a German pal thing, but still. She must have suddenly got a lot better at tennis in the 6 weeks she took off. The draw has been kinda easy, but it's not a fluke.

It wasn't even that easy a draw. Radwanska became a big favorite once Kvitova went out, and Pennetta, even in a slump, is usually a tough out at the US Open. The epic fail was of course Sharapova, but...I guess she's never going to be the same again.
