Stosur gets the break! Did not expect her to stay so strong.
Although maybe we should have. What other SEWTA player would have been able to win the deciders against Petrova and Kirilenko after the manner in which she lost the second sets?

Did someone just yell "Let's go Venus"? I didn't hear it, but Twitter says it was "Do this for Venus" or something.

Serena's only been embarrassed like that once before in a final Keeps up the cuntitude, not even shaking Asderaki's hand.

This match...doesn't even feel like it happened. Right? So fast. It really does feel like it only just started. Stosur was murdering Serena's serve at the end, which just made it weirder.

6 years ago I said Sam's groundstrokes are 10K level. And they were.
Just happy for her. She has come a long way. Not even a hint of choking tonight.

Sam's win is completely in line with previous Slam winners this year. Starting with Na Li.
They all had good but not outstanding results in the warm-up tournaments, with no wins. Then coming the slam time somehow they discovered their form and upsetting a previous champion in the final.
