Dang, if he had only not won that USO, I may have been right all along.

Wow. Did NOT expect this. I thought Jerzy was just a ballbashing caveman. I don't even know what to think, because i seem to be half-rooting for Andrew

Commentator, on JJ: "He looks like Jaws from the James Bond film. Frightening to play against!"

Janowicz is a basher yeah but he's also quite unique in that you rarely get a bug server who's so competent - well, dangerous - off the ground (and who regularly uses the dropshot as a major weapon). Isner, Raonic, Karlovic could never.

Jerzy's competent, but he can't rally with most players still. He really needs to learn how to come to net with his excessive drop shot usage. If only Ivo had the natural talent to hit groundies, his serve is far better than all those listed.

Go to the TMS Paris thread from last year and read the comments - everyone was raving about his dropshot and huge serve and it painted such an odd picture. Unsure of what to expect, really from such a description. He's...interesting. Muzza going to gag and lose this SF.

Janowicz is succeeding with more dropshots than he should against Murray - it's not just that they're good, it's that he follows them up/in so well.

Lendl, grumpy as always <3 Muzza will never bitch on court as much as he did.

Ben Rothenberg @benrothenberg 44s Jerzy Janowicz asking for roof to be closed now. "Don't tell me it's one hour or even more...tell me exactly the time," he says. #Wimbledon
Tom Perrotta @tomperrotta 35s "So ask," Janowicz says to Jake Garner (when they are going to close the roof). "Tell me exactly the time."

It's so hard to root for Murray while listening to this Castle character.

Feels like Janowicz's BP conversion ratio is like 0 for 84939493.

It's so hard to root for Murray while listening to this Castle character. Giving myself an aneurysm with their refusal to even attempt to pronounce Janowicz correctly.

Now Castle just makes up stuff about Murray complaining that JJ talked through the point, when Murray complained about the crowd.

Oh, so that's who this commentator is! Thank you, Lady
So the pronunciation is NOT "Janowitz" like they keep saying?
Anyway I don't like this match any more. The holes in Jerzy's game and in his brain have been exposed, and it turns out, I AM rooting against Andy.
At least Jerzy has toned down his excessive dramatics on court, compared to last year.

That was Henman! They are all terrible.
I can't believe the match turned on one dead net cord and one dropshot too many.

Big brouhaha over the roof now. And now I can tell Henman from Castle.

Now Muzza bitching and complaining, accusing the umpire of being influenced by JJ who's been complaining about the roof for 40 minutes. John McEnroe and the whiny Brit commentator agreeing with him.

I just never react well to hearing adults whine, "It's NOT FAIR!" As if Andy's going to lose anyway; Jerzy's game is too raw still. He's not a one-trick pony but he's been revealed as a two-trick pony. Unlike, well, our Pony.

So now we'll have an indoor match. Jerzy's hoping this will favor his bug-serve game. The whole fuss is bugging me, since Andy is so clearly playing far better tennis than Jerzy is, so who cares. I need some Triscuits!

The last name is obvious (well, from someone who grew up around a lot of Polish names), but I thought Jerzy was pronounced "Yer-hee" as its a nickname like Jerry is. I don't know.
But, I finally got used to the Anglo world butchering every Russian name that I stopped caring.

Yeah I was generally right. You'd think the USian commentators would get W=V and J=Y by now, but they apparently never will.
Also my surname has both of those issues, and we Anglicized the pronunciation, so maybe we just don't care and apparently never will. #merica
