Thanks. So all of you are on Twitter for this match. <sigh> I don't think I'm the twitter type. Too hard to try to be clever all the time. I'll admit that Twitter gets 99% of me these days. But (a) no one here likes me so you're welcome and (b) I get hundreds of viewpoints there and here I get...7. #sorri

I just never react well to hearing adults whine, "It's NOT FAIR!" Serena Williams: 2009 US, 2011 US finals. What irked me is when the McEnroes of the world whined about "You can't call that!" - silly, whining AND WRONG. I can understand Muzza's anger and frustration and I do believe JJ's demanding exact timing for roof being closed played a role in this rush to close the roof, but REALLY it's not worth the hysteria everyone's making it out to be regardless of who wins. It's not like anyone was threatening to shove balls down throats or calling someone else "unattractive on the inside".

If Nav were there, she'd still be haranguing us about it.

I should be in bed! Last day in PK and I'm exhausted and have a busy morning. FUCK MUZZA. CAKE needs my energies. ALLEZ!

The hysteria is all springing from the biased GBR commentators thinking Murray is entitled to preferential behaviour. It was the logical time to close the roof to avoid having to do so mid-set, and who cares if that has the side effect of killing Murray's momentum.

Yes, I guess they do think his opinion should hold sway. But they really should try to spell out some "rules" about it. Hard to do, though, with some days obv. being darker than others, w/cloud cover blah blah

So now bug serve vs bug serve. Why do Andy fans not acknowledge he's a bug server, too?

I see Andy keeps maintaining his reputation as the worst challenger in the game. What is it now? 2 out of 22?

So Murray's momentum wasn't broken after all.

Until the QF Andy was 0/18 in this tournament. So I think I'm flattering him with 2/22 stat, it should be worse. LOL here's another one! right on cue!!

So yeah, Nadal is OVA according to the commentators, good to know.
"Tumaini @tumcarayol 2m
A couple of games ago Castle and McEnroe suggested that the game has "moved on" from the player who is currently #1 in the race."

Well, for sure an Andy-Nole final will be more fun to watch than a Jerzy-Nole one would. I got pretty tired of the sound of those JJ serves banging so hard into the net.
The good news for me was that the ESPN3 livestream works pretty darned well in BCTT now; no more frozen screens. It just keeps getting better and better for the no-tv-service people.

Pretty soon there will be no such thing as "television." Everything will be produced for consumption via the Internet, to be viewed on whatever platform you like. No networks, no schedule.

Four SFs, three excellent and dramatic matches. That's actually more than I'd expected. Tennis won, I think.

Same here! I especially never expect women's SFs with actual good tennis. How can anyone say that this Wimbledon has been crap! Hurley, it'll be way better when we can watch livestreams directly on the tv. The cable between laptop & tv is a nuisance and makes it hard for me to come to the Cult and make my usual deeply insightful comments (such as YAY and BOO). But I can't stand watching sports for very long on the 13" laptop screen.

Yeah, that's a lie, and Hurley knows it is, which is why I didn't respond.
I like Twitter on a very limited basis, mostly for the links to good articles. But not as a place to discuss matches in real time.

Yeah I was generally right. You'd think the USian commentators would get W=V and J=Y by now, but they apparently never will. The most botched pronunciation of Jelena Jankovic's name I've heard came from Monica Seles, of all people. I'm pretty sure she was bullshitting for some reason.

Yugo-rivalry? I already forget which republic Seles technically hailed from. Croatia? (Not counting her Hungarian ethnic roots.)

No, she's from Serbia. That's why Ivanisevic wouldn't have danced with her if both had won Bimbledon '92. And JJ always insists they're on friendly terms. I don't know why she decided to act more Catholic than the Pope that time. I know I'm petty but I've thought a tiny bit less of her ever since.

Novi Sod, I think that's Serbia. Yes, that's Serbia. I get them mixed up too, which led to some lulz with BAG fans cursing me.
