Strong service game from EB! She's on the board -- whew! no double bagel

Losing.

Well, duh. Li Na is good! But EB is hanging in there. This is a lot better match than her other recent ones. At least according to the scoreboard.

Elena is the more talented player.
And will lose.

I don't know if she's more talented or not. I just know she's not up to beating top-20 players right now.
Just hold serve here, Lena. End on a strong note.

6 match losing streak.
Congrats, Elena.
Retire.

Oh, well. Still better than losing to Pratt. But I wish she didn't end on a DF.

Oh well.
I once again turn to Lucia Safarova.
Elena may get run over by a bus. The end.

A win in doubles. 6-3 6-3. But, over Corina Morariu without her BFF. So, meaningless.

A loss is bad. Now a win -- over a seeded team -- is bad.

Doubles success is for scrubs.

I saw a photo of Elena at WTA World and she looks good. Now if she would only find her good form. She gave Na Li a competitive match so maybe that's a start. Elena has to start somewhere.

She doesn't look bad. A little more muscular than she was before.

Doubles wins over Corina don't count without You-Know-Who.

I mentioned that about Corina's BFF!

Well Stubbs is not exactly a doubles nobody herself. Unlike the BFF, Stubbsy has actually won this thing before.

Okay, they're first up tonight on Show Court 2(!), against the unseeded team of Shengnan Sun (who's she?) and Tiantian Sun. Maybe it's Tiantian who has earned them the decent court.

Shengnan appears to be another of those who only played in China/Japan mostly. Great, so we'll lose to a nobody.

Remember, Elena won her only slam at this tournament. In mixed doubles.

When she was puking up all her meals, like her former pal Danielka.
I'm very cynical now, so we better win today.

Elena is playing Mixed with Yves Allegro.
They're on Laver tonight vs. some Aussies probably.

Unfortunately, instead of some Aussie bumpkins, they're playing Paes and Stosur. The 3-seeds.

Elena defeated Paes and Navratilova in the 2004 final.

Plus, that was the old Elena, not this struggling 2007 model.
Still, anything can happen in Mixed.

Elena was actually playing horrible in early 2005, as well. And that was when she was looking anorexic.
Oh well. Please play small events now.

Elena will play in Paris. And get killed on this run to prepare playing 10k's in Yemen.
