LOL at Williams fans rejoicing. Too bad Maria doesn't get a chance to whip Serena's huge ass.

Wow, that was shockingly good. When was the last time Justine was bagelled??! The streak comes to an end in surprising form, and I was completely wrong because I thought Justine would be able to get Maria out of her rhythm.
How funny, the world #1 won as many games off of Pov as the 30+ year old momma. That makes me feel much better. Although obviously Justine pushed her harder and made the match much longer.
Wow, ESPN totally dropping the ball. Without warning, they left the tournament and said Youzhny/Tsonga could be seen live on ESPN Classic, which I and I think most Americans do NOT get! Not fair, they lied to us all day about that match. Now I have to load a lesser quality livestream on my slow computer and I don't get to tape it, either. I'll have to buy the match on DVD, if it's good. Come on, Mish! I'm so angry at ESPN, just infuriated.

I wonder if Jelena can make Maria hit errors? If it's a hot day on RLA, could happen. Jelena made Serena suck today, and she's been doing it to girls all tournament long, including herself. lol

Who the hell is going to win now?? We'll have a new AO champ, at any rate. Imagine a Jankovic v Radwanska final!

Lol, yep new Aussie Open champ for the ladies.
Great, I get to watch slightly delayed with the dubbing off. Thanks, ESPN!
GO MISH.

I would obviously choose Maria at this points. First of all, she's one round further than those other 4 already. Then, she's playing very well.
We can eliminate Hant and Rad. Maria will get past Jank I think, it will be a different match but Jank needs a miracle, and Maria is so steady right now. Venus has been very unconvincing, and this isn't Wimbledon where she's a different player once on Centre Court. But Ana has not played a consistent match yet.
Ah, Maria will manhandle them all.

Youzhny saved a set point with a good first serve/forehand winner into open court combo. He seems tough and ready for this match. He's hit some beautiful passes and returns under pressure, but didn't capitalize on his 0-30 chance earlier.
This is a tough match to call. Both guys feeling each other out. But I think Youzhny is playing it more on his terms so far and seems more intense.

Fuck. Two blown overhead points from Misha at 30-30, 5-6. (( Ugh, I'm tired and the feed isn't working. I don't know if I should go to bed or not. Damn ESPN.

This tournament has Venus written all over it. She'll roll over Maria like she did in HK.
Sad, but the Ree and Henin losses were worth it.
Maria was brilliant tonight. I mean, wow. What an awesome display of tennis.

Uh, how the hell will Pee roll over Maria? You can hardly compare shitty HK to a Slam. But, OH MY GOD. I really need to watch this drubbing, if only to see the look on Bitch's face at, like, 5-0 in the second. Maria has to win this now. She cannot lose to JJ after this kind of performance. Well, she probably could, but that would be crazy.

I'm glad I missed the second set. The third set of the current match hasn't been half bad. I hope The Russian holds serve here and makes it interesting. I don't really care who wins, I like both.

The moment is too much for Youzhny. I give up. 7-5, 2-0. Should have stayed up. He's fought for this third set. He could still lose it, of course, but he hasn't thrown in the towel on this match.

A pity that didn't last for another set. Oh well.
Jim Courier is sooooo creepy. Man. "I saw you in the locker room before the match..." A perfectly innocent line had just about anybody else said it. Something about the way that Jim talks. And his hair. Creeeeeeepy.

Ha, poor Jim! So misunderstood. I'm excited about Tsonga. At least the men's side is still interesting for me.

That was a great win for Maria over Henin. Masha was very impressive. But it was only the quarterfinals and Maria still has to win 2 more matches to win the title and that won't be easy. Especially if she has to play Venus Williams in the final. And Jankovic has a recent win over Sharapova in the Birmingham final last year so she will believe she can beat Maria in the semi's. And congrats to Masha on ending Justine Henin's brillaint 32 match winning streak. When a player has a long winning streak going and they lose tough first set ehy often lose the match. And that's what happened to Justine against Maria. Too bad Youzhny came up small against Tsonga. Like Self - Love I thought ESPN2 was going to show the Tsonga/Youzhny match live. Then they put it on ESPN Classic. You can't make up how bush league that network can be in certain instances.

Well, men's side now. We need Roger to triple bagel Blake to get even with ESPN.

How come after Sharapova beat Henin to stop her 32 match winning streak we didn't see Maria interviewed by ESPN2's Pam Shriver courtside or in the tunnel after Australian television was finsihed interviewing Maria on court? Where did ESPN2 have to go at 5:30am EST in the morning when they could have shown an important interview for their viewers? I recall Shriver interviewing players in the tunnel after matches in previous years. We see an upset and Henin's 32 match winning streak ended and we see some Serena Williams press conference interview clips after Sharapova upset Henin.

Thumping! Oh well. QF > DNP so whatever. On to RG.
Stupid Misha. Nice for Jo-Willy, though. Also, he is ridiculously sexy.

Jo-Willy reminds me too much of Muhammad Ali to find him sexy. He's also more gorilla than Gonzalez, but that's not PC in this case. We must play better than we did in New York against Nadal. We have to win.

Silver lining: I think this will help Justine win Wimbledon. Which is what really matters this year. I would have felt very nervous if she'd gone into Wimbledon having won both Slams of 08 (and I can't really see anyone beating her at RG). The less pressure, the better. Also, please don't play Eastbourne.
I want Fed or Nole to win the men's title, don't really care about the bottom half though Nadal will make for a better final.
Jo-Willy is not sexy. No one in the bottom half has been, since Wuss. Though I guess Nieminen is blandly handsome.
