Lots of hotties playing golf these days. Geoff Ogilvy Luke Donald Adam Scott (despite the passing resemblance to Ms. Orlando Bloom) I'm forgetting someone else from Australia but he gets a too. Peter Hedblom, whom I'd never heard of until today: YES. Of course, none of them are American. And, of course, Phil Manboobs will surely win this event.

That was a hilarious end to a supposedly serious golf tournament! poor Montie, though.

I didn't see a thread for this. I stopped watching halfway through the back nine, when it seemed obvious Phat was going to win. How I hate him. Like if Hefty was here right now, I'd seriously punch him in the face. Thankfully, he relived the days of his stupidity. I really wish Monty would have won, though. Geoff is somewhat cute. More in the body. My boyfriend Adam Scott needs to start winning stuff again... and not stuff like the Booz Allen Open.

Okay, it's only Friday, and it's already too much. Way too much! "Tiger, Tiger, Tiger! Look at Tiger! ONLY TIGER could make that shot! ONLY TIGER could make a bogey from that position! ONLY TIGER, ONLY TIGER!" So why don't they have ONLY TIGER play, then? The other poor shmoes are just stage props to Tiger's godly progress around the course? Just send them home, then; they're just interfering with TIGER AIR TIME!

I'm actually doing something pivotal at the moment, so I stopped watching scores at around 4. Did he make a charge? Justin Rose put up two good rounds. Maybe he bags his first here?

Not really a major charge for Tiger yet, but he's just 3 or 4 off the lead, blech. And yeah, Rose is in a good position, just 1 back from the lead. Didn't he win the British Open once? Scoreboard for your entertainment: www.golfsurround.com/usopen/2007/scoring/index3.html

A guy named Bubba's in the lead? Ha, I like that. It's like some guy wandered over from a nearby NASCAR course and took the lead.

I think he finished 2nd when he was 19 or so, about 8 years ago? And faded for a couple years after that, but is now back. Yes, thanks, but I was watching scores, I just...can't now. It'd make me fuck up this huge important project I've been doing ALONE ALL WEEK.

Leena, Maria Sharapova has her sights set on Adam Scott so you'll be in for a battle with Maria for Scott! The U.S. Open is my least favorite of the 4 golf grand slams. It's just a mess in large part because it's an insanely difficult course. The USGA wants to be the star of the tournament and not the players. I won't be watching much of it this weekend that's for sure. And with Mickelson out of the mix the ratings will be lower than normal.

Good. Adam sucked again in a slam. And I heard he had a hissy fit. Oh well. Go fuck the robot, I'm sure that will make you feel better.
Rose finished 4th in '98, I think. And he had a lucky hole-out on the last hole that kinda made him popular. I don't know if he's good enough yet, though.
I want Angel to win.

Angel is a hideous-looking man, but him winning would be a long overdue "fuck you" to the Anglophone-centric professional golf world. I mean, Sergio should have done it years ago, but hey.

You're right. I miss Lee Trevino! Anyway it seems I got Justin Rose confused with Justin Leonard. Neither is very appealing. But few golfers are. Ballesteros was okay, but there's a sad dearth of Italianos in this sport.

Seve is not Italian. No Italian surname would end like that. He's Hispanic or Latino.

No, I know he's Spanish. I didn't segue well from Seve to the Italians; they were 2 different topics. I've turned off the tv; I'm really not in the mood for today's Tiger is God worship service. Once he teed up they stopped showing other players. But how about that Mickelson. whining about the course and its dangers to the players' health , and his "brave" play with a sore wrist. You have to wonder what hockey players, or guys like Allen Iverson or Dwayne Wade who play with broken bones & things, think when they see crap like that.

Leena, I'm glad to see you've accepted the Maria Sharapova and Adam Scott IMG built relationship. ;D Look out! Here comes Eldrick (Tiger)! Janie, Mickelson was furious with the U.S. Open and rightfully so. This is where he hurt his wrist a couple weeks ago practicing from the absurdly high rough that the USGA was going to cut in half. But Phil didn't know that and hacked away in practice from the rough and injured his left wrist. It was a very unfortunate injury. I will watch the U.S. Open this weekend in bits and pieces. The mediocre golf is hard to watch for long periods of time.

I've turned off the tv; I'm really not in the mood for today's Tiger is God worship service. Once he teed up they stopped showing other players. There was a pretty good piece by Phil Muschnik in the NY Post over Memorial Day weekend about how Tiger, vulgar whiny SLOW-PLAYING bastard that he is, gets a free pass from commentators because he's, I dunno, the savior of golf or *cough* they're afraid to be called racist. It's true: if any other player swears after a bad shot, he's setting a poor example for the gallery or the kids watching on TV; when Tiger swears, he's "so emotionally invested in his game." When any other player takes forever to play, they get called out on it; when Tiger takes one full year to putt out, he's "focused on every inch of his game, and that's what makes him the best."

Wow, and to think I wasn't even aware of these hypocrisies. Good for that journalist to dare to point it out. Reminds me of the media reaction to Jennifer Capriati's on-court swearing & other antics compared to their outrage when Justine H. raises an eyebrow.

Well Tiger posted a very strong 69 (dirty) today, but if Baddeley can hold his nerve here, he'll stay two shots ahead for the final round (even though he just gave one back on 15). And if just one of these people currently tied for second with Tiger at +4 can gain a shot before the clubhouse, it'll keep Tiger out of the final pairing (assumingly Baddeley stays ahead) and that way the leaders can play with each other (dirty) and not with Tiger, thereby keeping themselves out of the line of that Red Shirt Intimidation factor. Baddeley is particularly Jesusy, but...you know, better than Tiger. Manboobs McGee already didn't make the cut, let's keep the majors away from the Gruesome Twosome this year! How awesome would that be!

Badds was playing well enough to win this. He would be a fine champ, too. Although, he's one of those underachieving younguns. But, he's playing with Eldrick and that's LOSE.
So, Casey might win. Another lucky round, plz.

They actually had to finish ahead of Tiger since Tiger finished earlier. So, two shots. And 15, 16 and 18 are like super impossible hard.
