Rocco "Inter" Mediate is in the lead. Do we like him?

For this board, yes.
A fun, light-hearted guy who's extremely limited and one-dimensional with his game.

Rocco rulez! But he is no longer in the lead.
Did you guys see that chip by Tigre? Dang.

It's not fair when Tiger gets lucky like he did on the back nine.
The best of the day was Philip's 9 on the 13th. Hilarity watching the ball roll back at his feet again and again as he always tries to play the perfect pitch.

Tigre has had a bit of struggle closing out these final rounds lately. So there is hope.
But the Golf Channel tells me that he's never lost a major when leading by three or fewer strokes after the third round. Which...does that mean he's never lost a major when leading going into Sunday? Because I doubt he's ever choked away a big lead.

Yes. And he's only twice in any tournament while leading going into the last round. That's really good considering he's won like 60 something times.
Although, he did have the lead for a short time last year at Oakmont on Sunday. So, it's possible.

Of course he'll win. The worst part about being a tiger hater is that golfers, unlike tennis players, never retire! I have to accept that Tiger is going to be out there on golf courses "surprising" the masses with his wins FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.

Rocco will be the next Billy Mayfair and beat Tiger in a playoff, because he's equally awesome.

Also, how anyone could watch that final round on TV and still like Tigre is beyond me. He's a surly, vulgar, violent asshole when he's losing or playing poorly.

Tiger even does that when he's playing well. It's no secret that he's a pompous dick, but he doesn't try to hide it. That's why I like him, unlike Philip, who is a multi-faced shitbag. I do wish he'd dump his musclehead caddy, though.

Honestly, they shouldn't even bother with the playoff, since everyone including Rocco knows the conclusion is foreordained. I bet the trophy guy already engraved Tiger's name on the trophy last night. If he didn't do it on Thursday. Or even a year ago. In fact they probably have a closetful of trophies already labelled Tiger that they can just pull out as needed. But Tiger winning this is nowhere near as bad as it will be for me if those odious Lakers bounce back and win.

Boo, but also Yawn.
Next is Tiger winning the PGA Championship. Let us now prepare our best stunned, astonished, gobsmacked facial expressions for the shocking news that Tiger wins this one, too.

Well, at least he had to work for it. That doesn't help. It only makes the media more awestruck than usual. It was hard, but TIGER STILL DID IT OMG!1!!!!1111!11!!

I do have to admit this time was really impressive so soon after knee surgery and not playing any practice rounds. It did help that Torrey Pines is a course he's won on 2142 times before, though.

Inbee Park won the U.S. Women's Open at 19 -- the youngest ever -- but more surprising news ahead:
"The lowest score Sunday belonged to 15-year-old Jessica Korda, the daughter of ‘98 Australian Open tennis champion Petr Korda, who caddied for her. She shot a 69 and tied for 19th." :red:

I saw Jessica earlier in the week. She's quite good. And looks just like her dad. Poor thing.

Schadenfreude at Bethpage BlackBy LYNN ZINSER Published: June 17, 2009 We are officially in full-on United States Open mode. The players are preparing for the unique agony of the toughest golf tournament of the year and we are prepared to bask in their frustration. This is the way it should be. Golf makes ordinary people suffer, so why not the pros? After all, they make gobs of money playing it and still dress like they stumbled out of a fashion horror show. And when one of them whines about the “unfair” conditions, you are allowed to throw a rubber golf club at the television, should you have one handy. Having the Open at Bethpage brings its own dimension. Sure, there is the requisite Tiger Woods worship, and we will give you your fill, from the New York Daily News’ John Harper and the New York Post’s George Willis, and this take from Golf Digest’s Thomas Bonk. But others are picking Tiger because his main competitors are not coming here with any momentum, writes Gene Wojciechowski on ESPN.com, including the baffling slump by the once-unbeatable Padraig Harrington. But Tiger worship has its sobering side, with Yahoo’s Josh Peter describing how Woods manages to keep himself so distant from fans and Yahoo’s Jeff Passan remarking how unusual it was to see him get emotional about the breast cancer fight of Phil Mickelson’s wife, Amy. Mickelson addressed his wife’s plight and his Open chances in a Wednesday morning news conference, highlighted here on a Newsday blog, and said, “she would like a silver trophy in her hospital room.” This will make Mickelson an even more sentimental favorite at Bethpage, a site with unique and outspoken fans, writes Bob Harig on ESPN.com, who really do not like Sergio Garcia. There is no truth to the rumor that Garcia is still finishing one of his pre-shot routines from the 2002 Open. Perhaps the only person more unpopular than Garcia is Felimon Betito, the owner of New York Golf Shuttle, the business accused of hoarding Bethpage tee times and charging $850 for them. www.nytimes.com/2009/06/18/sports/golf/18leading.html?ref=golf
